Empowering Team
One of the most essential and inevitable obstacles any organisation faces multiple times throughout its life cycle is the need for change. Organisational transformation requires empowerment and participation at all levels. As one of the team’s leaders, you must practice the E’s of Leadership. Empower, Enhance, Enable, and Engage. Empowerment is based on the idea that providing team members with the resources, authority, opportunity, and motivation to do their work and holding them accountable for their actions will make the team happier and more proficient. As a leader, there is a fine line between holding and letting it go. In other words, allowing others to take leadership of their roles results in high impact and positive long-term effects for the company and its individuals. All the results of these Actions do tune the culture of the Organisation. But remember that building a culture that supports team empowerment doesn’t come overnight. When it comes to empowerment in the workplace, it’s all about communicating the right messages to the right person at the right time and in the right way. For example, you may be sharing the right messages, but if you don’t communicate them correctly, you may not get your message through! There are plenty of definitions of great leaders. But they all have one thing in common: great leaders are great communicators. Improving communication and knowledge sharing in the workplace is crucial to foster a culture of empowerment and improvement as a leader. Winning the change fight is much more likely with truly empowered team members that lead the change.
