Coding Standard
While it is essential to follow a coding standard and best industry practices, it isn’t always straightforward. There are significant long term benefits to be gained. But the hurdles of additional time and human resistance to change must first be overcome. Developers do maintain a relationship with their Code. Because of this uncertain relationship with their Code, there are two types of developers: those that strictly adhere to coding standards and those who don’t. Some people understand the importance of following a standard style, while others believe it’s perfectly OK to ship Code with their fingerprints all over it. Of course, it’s tough to define and maintain the perfect coding style – that’s why we at Web and App Studio have a Peer Review in our Workflow. It’s important to note that consistency is always more important than following the rules. Apart from our Human Peer Review, we use Automation to inspect the Code. These actions give us the confidence that we deliver a well-written code indeed.
